Once the 2007 summer season was over, Beenie returned to the uk and was offered a regular week-end set at Saddlers Bar in Derby, Playing Electro. Now Beenie had moved away from R&B he was focusing on UK Garage, Bassline and Electro. By April 2008 when it was time for his 2nd season in Malia, Beenie had been warming up major artist at some of the UK's largest events such as Hed Kandi, Gatecrasher, Garage Nation and BBC 1Xtra.
Now it was time for Beenie to start his 2nd season in Malia, once again having a residency at Pleasure Beach in the day playing Funky House & Electro, then at night having residency at Help Bar playing UK Garage and Bassline. The season was going brilliant untill July 21st 2008 when Beenie was unfortunatly knocked off of his bike and almost killed, causing major breaks from hip to toe and server burns bone deap down the back of both legs. This was almost the end of Beenie and his Dj'ing career as it was looking unlikely that he was going to pull through. 3 years later with huge support from many friends and most of all his mum, he is on now walking again with the aid of a walking stick and is back behind the decks.
In 2011, Dj Beenie's 'Garage Kiss' mixes were picked up on by Up-Tempo records. S.K.T. (C.E.O.). After the huge success of Garage Kiss Summer & Autumn mixes, Up-Tempo records signed Dj Beenie and Garage Kiss and were determined to put out the first ever NuWave UK garage compilation the UK has seen. Garage Kiss
- Sounds Of The Underground was released December 23rd 2011 and became the most anticipated UK garage compilation of 2011/2012.
Garage Kiss - Sounds Of The Underground is now available at HMV Digital, iTunes, Amazon MP3 and all top online retailers.
Dj Beenie would like to thank everyone that has supported him over the years, and throughout his horrific accident, and to those that continue to support him.
Dj Beenie is well known around the midlands for his unique style of mixing. Specialising in UK Garage, Bassline and Electro, He has performed infront of 1000 + crowds and warmed up for numerous artists including Judge Jules, Dj EZ, Tim Westwood, Romeo and many more.
Beenie first became involved with the love of music and Dj'ing at 12 years old when he saw a friends fathers turntables. Not knowing it but that evening had changed his future. Through-out his school years, he was attending a christian event called preach to reach, where many rappers and Dj's would come together and put on a huge Christian Hip Hop event, with scratching, rapping and beatboxing. Beenie was always interested in the Dj's, wondering how they managed to do what they were doing. Not long after leaving school beenie brought his first set of decks, no more waiting to play on his friends. With this he started to build his music collection and practiced all day every day, untill his step sisters father offered him a job.
Beenies first break into the world of Dj'ing was for private parties. A few months down the line he realised that this wasn't the sort of Dj'ing he had in mind. Then fortunatly a new bar had opened up in Derby town center (Bespoke) and a friend was working there. Eventually Beenie managed to get his first real Dj'ing job, playing R&B and Hip Hop. A few years had passed with beenie being the full time resident at Bespoke, playing for numerous events around the midlands and warming up a number of artists, including Dj EZ, Romeo, Jamie Duggan and many more. He had built Bespoke up to be the most well known urban bar in the midlands.
After Beenie had done this, he wanted to take it one step further with larger crowds. In 2007 he was offered a job working in Malia, Crete playing Funky House & Electro. Soon after accepting the job, Beenie moved to Greece and began his season abroad. Playing on Malia's most popular beach (Pleasure Beach) in the day and many of Malia's largest clubs at night, including Camelot Castle & Club 69. With this he was becoming well know extremly fast.
